The secret of quitting smoking permanently

We all know for a fact that smoking tobacco is a deadly habit right?!, but in reality, it is much easier for us to continue smoking than to quit! How many times have you tried to let go of the habit, but failed?!, or maybe at one point in time you had succeeded, but unfortunately you came back. Why is that only a handful of smokers actually had succeeded? What did they do right? While others still struggles to find ways to kick the habit.

" It's all about choices! You choose, you make the rules, not tobacco companies, not addiction "

The effects of smoking tobacco on our heath:

  • Speeds up aging.
  • Smelly hair, bad breath, and bad teeth.
  • Loss of appetite and impaired taste of food.
  • Anxiety, irritability, stress, and inability to sleep.
  • Tiredness and lack of energy.
  • Bronchitis, smokers cough and difficulty in breathing.
  • Major cause cancer (lung cancer, blood cancer).
  • Heart disease.
  • Sterility and infertility.
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Pregnancy problems.

Why most of them failed:

Most of the time, we seek the easy way out! And not trying to find out the real root cause of the problem. The consequence of trying and not succeeding will only add-up to your frustration and depression, and eventually it will make you smoke even more. Smoking is an addiction, it's just the same with any other forms of substance abuse, you may have the desire, motivation and the willpower to quit, but without the proper tool to guide you to the right direction it will make only matters even much worse.

Quitting smoking is never easy, but it's not impossible. But with a plan! on addressing the addiction and the habit that comes with it, you will surely have a better chance of success on ending the habit permanently.

These are some of the habit that must be stop:

  • The urge to smoke every after meal.
  • The urge to smoke when going to the bathroom.
  • Smoking before going to bed.
  • Skipping breakfast and reaching for a cigarette with a cup of coffee as soon you get out of bed.
  • Social smoking, while with friends, drinking alcohol, etc.
  • The false perception of having a cigarette when getting stress, panic, and the feeling of anxiety.
  • Taking a cigarette during breaks at work.
  • Having a cigarette while walking.

and the list goes on.....

Here are some of the thing that you could do to deal with the (jone's) craving naturally:

                         SUCCESS REQUIRES ACTION

Exercise: when you feel the urge to smoke, start doing jumping jacks, drop and do push-ups, or if possible go outside and run, the reason for this is; instead of taking smoke and nicotine, get your lungs take oxygen and by doing exercise, it actually increases your heart rate and the body will release endorphin which causes an analgesic effect that will make you feel better, and serotonin which is the feel good chemical.

After the exercise; breathe: breathe air, fill your lungs with oxygen as you can. Sounds simple, but it actually works.

Eliminate the false perception and think of other things to do: smokers believe that smoking is doing something for them, the false belief that it relieves stress, panic, and anxiety. What you can do is; get a hobby, or think and do something productive like wash the car or clean the house etc.

Drink lots of water: water will help you flush nicotine out in the body especially when your doing exercise.

Quitting smoking is one of the greatest thing that you could  ever do in your life, it's not only beneficial to your health but also it makes you a better person.
